RM of Fillmore’s story
The Rural Municipality of Fillmore No. 96 lies in the south-east part of Saskatchewan along Highway 33. It became a rural municipality on December 13, 1909, having previously been known as Local Improvement District No. 6-E-2.
Within its boundaries are the villages of Creelman, Fillmore and Osage, along with the locality of Huronville. The municipal office is in Fillmore. A Canadian Pacific Railway line, the Souris-Arcola-Regina section, runs through the area and serves Creelman, Fillmore and Osage, among other communities along its route.
The RM is also home to the Osage Wildlife Refuge, a wildlife conservation area about 4.8 kilometres south-east of Osage along Highway 33.
